Summary
Since 2006, Fife and Tayside Wider Access Forum has been at the forefront of working with practitioners in using the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) to promote and support community based adult learners in progression and transition from community to further learning opportunities. The recommendations from the project report Supporting Progression and Transitions in Community Based Adult Learning Using SCQF, Personal Development Planning (PDP) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) completed in October 2008 identified a need to develop and deliver a cross sector staff development programme that would raise awareness and understanding of the uses of the SCQF in community learning settings.
This event builds on a series of awareness raising workshops for practitioners working within the community based adult learning sector to support them in using the SCQF with their learners. The workshops demonstrated how to benchmark learning and how to use the SCQF to support RPL. This event will promote and support implementation of the SCQF in community based learning settings.
