Summary
Online Activity: Tuesday 16 March to Monday 29 March 2010
Face-to-face Activity: Tuesday 30 March 2010
Curriculum for Excellence will support all learners in developing skills which they will use throughout their life and in their work, including the development of pre-vocational, enterprising and employability skills, personal skills, high levels of cognitive skills and the opportunity to put learning into a practical context. Throughout this course delegates will consider how they can use National Qualifications as a vehicle to developing these essential skills.
The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) have developed the SQA Academy to extend and enhance the training and development opportunities available to those who contribute to the assessment processes that underpin the qualifications of the SQA.
To ensure that this course is developed to meet the needs of Scotland's 43 colleges, Scotland's Colleges have linked with the SQA Academy to combine their knowledge, skills and experience to create this staff development course.
The course uses a blended learning approach with both online and face-to-face learning activities. Delegates are provided with many opportunities to reflect on their learning and teaching practice in a supported environment whilst gaining accreditation for CPD hours. Throughout the course and beyond the focus is on the impact this professional development activity will have on the learners' experience in college.
On the start date of the online activity, an email will be sent to delegates with instructions on how to create an account with SQA Academy. Online activities will be a mixture of articles to read, quizzes, discussion forums and reflection exercises. Delgates should allow a maximum of two hours to complete the online part of the course.
