The speaker on Thursday 18 November will be Dr Mee-Yan Cheung-Judge from Quality and Equality.
Mee-Yan is the creator and driving force behind Quality and Equality, founded in June 1987 after a distinguished eight year career in academia and in the marketplace. Her areas of expertise are organisation development, big system change, and equality and diversity, working with more than 300 clients from all sectors, including multinational blue chip companies, higher education, government agencies, public sector organisations and charities. Her commitment to facilitate and support major change programmes comes from her strong theoretical training in the field, her extensive practitioner's experience in supporting top managers in many strategic organisation change projects, and her passion to ensure change is synonymous with development. Using effective support to top managers, she has direct experience in delivering powerful culture change within organizations, and has improved organizational effectiveness and performance. Strong in both the theory and practice of organisation development, Mee-Yan brings to her major change projects an in-depth knowledge of how organisations work, an understanding of the critical role senior managers play in making organisations work, and her own particularly strong commitment to organisation development approaches and values, as well as substantial technical expertise in various intervention approaches and practices. She strongly advocates that the task of an external change agent is to encourage the development of internal leadership and a self-help approach.
Mee-Yan is the author of a number of OD articles, frequently teaches on the National School of Government and other major corporate Top Management Programmes, and is a Visiting Fellow of Roffey Park Institute. In June 2008 she was voted one of the 25 most influential thinkers in HR by the UK publication HR Magazine.
