Summary
CALL
Scotland will deliver a half-day workshop on methods and approaches that can
help to improve meaningful communication with/for students with complex
communication support needs.
Topics covered will include:
- creating a learning environment that is barrier free and ‘communication friendly’
- adapting and presenting information in an accessible way (spoken & written)
- simple techniques to increase participation
- using appropriate low and high-tech aids to support communication and interaction
Aims
Participants will:
- become more aware of their own communication
- learn about some simple techniques to enhance learners’ communication
- feel more confident about engaging meaningfully with students with complex communication support needs
- know where to find useful supports and resources
